Being a mother is the greatest gift in the world and every minute should be cherished. From the time we can walk and talk women are programmed for motherhood. We have innate feelings and instincts that guide us through our life to prepare us for the experience. But our vision is often sidetracked by reality and all of what life may throw in our path can interfere.

We can improve our experiences by taking the time to really be “in the moment” when we spend time with our children. Make it quality time, as time flies by too quickly or to some of us, the experience is taken away from us too soon.

So many of us are wrapped up in our work and we end up trading our time for our children. If your job is all consuming, perhaps it’s time to re-evaluate priorities. What do I need and what can I live without? Being true to yourself will bring you closer to your heart’s desire,

Sometimes reframing motherhood means stopping long enough not to get too caught up in external issues that take us away from our core desires and true intentions. In Cindy’s case, it seems Mothering is the most natural thing in the world. While this isn’t true for everyone woman or care-giver, each of us can learn to shut out the external noise, long enough to be present for the task at hand. This is what is known as ‘Being Present’ and people find different ways to come into the present. Meditation, yoga, self-help programs, religion, near-death experiences, and trauma, often serve to realign us and re-focus us into the ‘here and now’.
