Slow and Steady
We have a walker now. And yes, I apparently called my daughter a zombie. No one informed me of this development until the night I told the dog, Be careful we have a walker in the house now. Gretchen: Oh great, I’m a zombie.
“Our way is not soft grass,
it’s a mountain path with lots of rocks.
But it goes upward,
forward,
toward the sun.”
– Ruth Westheimer
The journey has begun
One foot stepping forward
The other hesitant
keeping progress backward
This path has many rocks
Someone’s expecting to sprint
Straight out of the gate
Deep breath; stop and wait
Slow and steady has won
Upward battles – don’t deflate
Keep rising toward the sun
