Mamazina Magazine features writing by moms on the heart and soul of women. Please read the work on our site to get a feel for what we are looking for before submitting.

What we’re looking for :
GUEST BLOGGERS! Each month we’ll accept submissions from a guest blogger, promoting her and announcing her work to our network. Wanna get involved? Read below for guidelines and submit any inquiries to: MamazinaMagazine@gmail.com with GUEST BLOGGER in the heading.

Submissions written by women who are mothers: biological, adoptive, foster moms, step-mothers, and grandmothers.

Pieces that are down-to-earth, thoughtful, complex, humorous, sincere, penetrating, and raw — no sugar-coating, please.

There is a $10 submission fee for all poetry, prose, fiction and essay articles. In our new streamlined magazine we will print a select few chosen pieces, but all approved pieces will be featured online. This fee is to help us cover our costs. We are a collective magazine, women-owned and mom-run and we appreciate your contribution! Online Submissions, please go to our online store JoinMama.net to submit fee. Poetry
We are looking for poems extraordinary for their originality, craftsmanship, and vision.  Poems of any length and form are welcome. Please send only three poems per submission and paste it within the text of an e-mail.

Fiction
We look for strong character development, cohesiveness, 500 – 1500 words.

Creative Nonfiction/Feature Essays
We look for personal essays/short stories, journal entries, and memoir excerpts by moms that read like fiction. 
What we are looking for:

A fresh topic, or a surprising take on a global or common experience or situation.

Character development.

Amusing narrative

Rich details with a distinctive personal voice.

Submissions should be 250-600 words. Please send a query along with the complete piece and send one essay per submission.

Visual Art
We are looking for artwork in the form of photographs, sketches and graphic art to feature within our pages. We are interested in artwork that conveys a unique perspective on motherhood. Keep in mind that Mamazina Magazine is a black and white publication so please do not send works that are in color.  Images should be sent as an attached .jpg and should be 300dpi.

How To Submit
Send all submissions to mamazinamagazine@gmail.com with poetry, fiction, etc., along with “Submission” in the subject line. Please include a short cover letter with contact information and bio. We strongly prefer email submissions, but if you must send via snail mail: PO Box 210 Hastings On Hudson, NY 10706.
A submission fee of $10 must accompany all pieces.

Online payments: JoinMama.net or include a check made out to MAMAPALOOZA.

We prefer previously unpublished pieces. We do consider reprints, if you have the rights and the work is not currently available online.

The author retains rights. Please credit us if your work is republished.

Simultaneous submissions are OK, but please notify us if accepted elsewhere.

We will review your work and get back to you within 3-4 weeks.

Editorial Work

Regular Contributors will receive FREE GOLD GUITAR MEMBERSHIP (value $75.00) at MamaMember, entitling them to Mamazina Subscription (free magazines mailed to your doorstep) and regular MamaFeature publicity with an information you want to forward us about your activities, books, press releases, appearances, etc.

Contributor Commitment

AT LEAST ONE MONTHLY BLOG SUBMISSION on a REGULARLY DETERMINED DAY delivered to MamazinaMagazine@gmail.com

AT LEAST ONE Submission per Mamazina Magazine: (Spring/Summer)(Fall/Winter). All submissions may not be printed, but WILL be included online.
